December 2007: CHINAR kids ace their exams once again!
The results of the final exams came in recently and we are again very happy to report that the kids have done extremely well. 11 A+’s, 5 A’s, 1 B+ and 2B’s!!! This stellar performance could not have been possible without the hard work of CHINAR mothers and tutors. Needless to say, we are very proud of them all.

There is also a school change. The group of kids who were in Oak Hill School have now been moved to Tender Ones School. The reason for this switch is that Oak Hill School moved it campus to a new location, outside the city limits. The new transportation costs would have been too expensive. Tender Ones, on the other hand, is within walking distance of our Balgarden location and an equally good school.

November 2007: Challenging the kids minds with a Computer!
The CHINAR house is now equipped with a personal computer for the kids. This is an exciting step with the continuing focus of providing the kids with opportunities to explore and grow. We hope to add many more computers in the coming months. We encourage everyone to donate any spare working laptops. Please visit laptop.org to participate in a project that provides free laptops to kids.

Special thanks to Charcoal Kebab and Shalimar Restaurant for providing the food for this event. Thanks also to our committed group of volunteers whose help proved invaluable.
