I woke up today to find Kashmir valley getting another blanket of fresh snow. It’s the second snow fall in the last nine days. My first winter in Kashmir in the last 21 years has been quite an experience. Kashmir is witnessing the worst cold in 16 years. Welcome back Irfan to winter in Kashmir! And then I had surprise visitors today - Zubaida and Uzma, two children from the CHINAR home walked in the snow to my home/office about half a mile away. I could not ask for a better start to the day especially as today is CHINAR’s 9th anniversary. CHINAR was launched in 2003 in Virginia USA with the vision to make a large scale social change and have a real impact on lives of orphans and vulnerable children in need in conflict ridden Kashmir.
